There are three lights on the SMA EV charger: a green, a blue and a red one.

If all three are on, the charging process will start soon. The three LEDs will stay on for 90 seconds and then go off. Charging will then begin.

The green one indicates the status of the charging process.

A green LED that is on continuously indicates that the charger is fully charging the car at high power. If the green LED is 'pulsating' (which is not the same as flashing!), the car charger is charging, but at a slightly lower power. The speed at which the LED is 'pulsating' indicates how fast the charging process is taking place.

If the green LED is off, the car is not charging. Flashing (so not pulsating!) usually indicates that the charging process has not yet started, or that a software update is taking place.

The blue one indicates the status of the internet connection.

A blue LED that is on continuously indicates that the inverter is connected to another device, usually your router for the internet. If the blue LED is on continuously, but the internet connection is still not working, this is probably due to a setting in your router or a fault with your Internet Service Provider.

A flashing blue LED indicates that a connection is being established with another device such as your router, usually via WiFi. Once the connection has been successfully established, the blue LED will change from a flashing signal to a constantly lit light.

The red LED indicates that a fault has occurred. A flashing red LED indicates that charging by the vehicle has been interrupted. In this case, try the following: • Open and close the vehicle with the wireless remote control. • Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle and then reconnect the charging cable to the vehicle. • Check and, if necessary, adjust the settings in the vehicle user interface

If the red LED remains on continuously, you will be shown what the problem is in the SMA Energy app. If the problem does not go away and the LED remains on, please contact our service department
