What data do we keep, and what do we do with it?
If you have downloaded our e-Book from the website, then you would have left your name and e-mail address. We use these in order to subsequently send you a limited number of e-mails, in which we give you more information and try to entice you to ask for a quote or arrange a meeting with one of our consultants. You can put an end to these e-mails by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' button in any of the e-mails.
If you do request a quote or a meeting with a consultant, then we ask some more information: besides your name and e-mail address, we also need an address and a telephone number. These will be registered in your account.
We use the address in order to see if your roof is suitable for solar panels, using Google Earth, and to see which one of our consultants lives closest to you. We use your telephone number to arrange an appointment with a consultant.
Your e-mail address will be added to the mailing list for our monthly newsletter. You can unsubscibe from this newsletter at any moment by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' (or: 'uitschrijven') button. NB: If you do so, you will no longer receive the newsletter but your details will still be stored in our system.
If you have received a visit from one of our consultants, the latter will most probably have taken pictures of your house: especially of the roof where the solar panels are to be installed, but also of the space where the inverter will be installed, of your electric circuit board and of the possible cabling route from the electric cabinet, via the inverter, up to the roof. These pictures will be added to your account.
If you do choose Zonnefabriek to install a PV installation on your roof, then the signed agreement and the signed proof of delivery plus all the pictures of the installed system will be added to your account.
After installation and payment, you will receive one more e-mail in which we ask you to give us a review. From then on you will only receive our monthly newsletter unless you unsubscribe (see above). Sometimes (no more than once or twice per year) we do send out a mailing to all our accounts for one-off publicity purposes. Please let us know if you do not want to receive these: in that case we will tick the box 'do not send mail' in your account and your e-mail address will be removed from those mailing lists.
On-line monitoring
If (as in most cases) your PV system is connected to on-line monitoring, enabling you to see the energy production of your solar panels on your computer, tablet or smartphone, then you are using the inverter manufacturer's servers. The data that is shared with these servers are: the location of your solar panels (i.e. your address), and the data concerning the energy produced by the solar panels. The protection rules governing this data are part of the inverter manufacturer's privacy policy.
For customers with SMA inverters you can find the privacy statement here, for customers with SolarEdge inverters here, and for ZeverSolar customers it can be found here. If you have a different brand of inverter then please contact our service department.
Erasing, changing or requesting your data
If you want your account to be deleted completely, please let us know via e-mail. We are then by law obliged to completely remove your data from our systems. You can use the following e-mail address: wismijndata@zonnefabriek.nl ('wis mijn data' means 'erase my data' in Dutch). NB: Do not do this if you have a PV system installed by us! If your PV system ever requires repair or maintenance, whether by us or any third party, then it is important that we have your data so that we can retrieve all information regarding your system and the warranties on it.
If you want to know exactly which data we have stored about you, please send an e-mail to service@zonnefabriek.nl. We are by law obliged to provide you with that information upon request.
Any changes in your details can also be sent to service@zonnefabriek.nl
