Inverters with a small two-line display show various measurements. By tapping on the device, you activate the screen and can navigate between different display screens.

The values you can read include:

  • Pac: 'P' stands for power, and 'ac' refers to the AC (alternating current) side. 'Pac' therefore indicates the current power output, measured in watts. This value fluctuates constantly due to changing sunlight conditions.

  • Upv: 'U' stands for voltage, and 'pv' for 'photovoltaic,' meaning it comes from the solar panels. 'Upv' displays the current DC (direct current) voltage of the strings. This value changes less throughout the day.

  • E-today: (or 'E-heute' if your inverter is set to German) 'E' stands for energy. This value shows how much energy the panels have generated so far today, measured in kWh (kilowatt-hours) or, for smaller amounts, in Wh (watt-hours).

  • E-total: Also representing energy, this value indicates the total system yield since installation, measured in kWh.

  • h-total: 'h' stands for hours. This value shows how many hours the device has been operating since installation. The inverter only works when the sun is shining, so nighttime hours are not counted.

  • Status: This value displays the current operating state of the inverter. Possible statuses include:

    • 'MPP' (Maximum Power Point): The panels are operating at their optimal performance under current weather conditions—everything is functioning correctly.
    • 'Waiting': The inverter has just started up and is checking that everything is in order before beginning operation.
    • 'Disturbance': There is an issue with the system, such as when the circuit the inverter is connected to has been switched off.
