The Sunny Boy Smart Energy 3.6 is the 2-in-1 solution for PV generation and flexible consumption in your household. This single-phase hybrid inverter from SMA has 3 separate MPP trackers, which means that even for complicated roofs you only need one inverter. The SBSE 3.6 is equipped with a 'Secure Power Supply' option: a simple and inexpensive way to always have power, even when the grid fails. This option also works when no batteries are connected.

Adding battery storage

The SBSE 3.6 can be connected to both solar panels and batteries, but it works just as well without batteries, as a 'normal' inverter. The device can also be used as a pure battery inverter, without solar panels. Both BYD and SMA batteries can be connected to the SBSE. The amount of battery capacity can vary from 3.28 kWh to several tens of kWh. The most common capacity is around 10 kWh.
