An air-to-air heat pump is basically the same as an air conditioner. Many people think of an air conditioner as just for cooling, but with most air conditioners you can also heat a space. The main function of the Daikin air-to-air heat pumps is heating.
A Daikin heat pump consists of an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units, which are coordinated with each other. The outdoor unit extracts heat or cold from the outside air, and the indoor unit releases warm or cold air into the home. The temperature and timing are set simply and centrally for each room. Your existing central heating system is not replaced or adjusted, but remains present as a backup for the really cold days.
