21/08/2026 | Last updated on 27 August 2026

There are multiple ways to access the user interface of the inverter. We show here the method using the SMA Energy App and the QR code on the inverter.

Step 1: The SMA Energy App

Get the SMA Energy App and click on 'My display area' at the bottom right:

Step 2: open the scanner

Click on 'Quick access to devices'. This activates the camera so you can scan the QR code on the inverter

Activate scanner

Step 3: Locate the QR code

Point the phone's scanner at the QR code of the inverter. In this photo it can be seen in the red circle

Step 4: Login screen

Now you arrive at the login screen of the inverter. Here you can log in with the username and password combination. We usually use the customer's last name with a capital letter at the beginning and no spaces (also no prefixes) as username. For the password we use: the digit zero, followed by the postal code, followed by an underscore, followed by zf in lowercase, for example: 01234AB_zf

Step 5: Click on configuration

You arrive at the SBSE dashboard. Click here on the gear icon for configuration

Step 6: Click on Device parameters

Click on 'Device parameters' (or Parameters in the English version)

Step 7: Search for the parameter 'DevRStr'

A search bar appears on the page: type the word 'devrstr' here (This is an abbreviation of 'device restart')

Step 8: scroll to the right

When you have entered 'devrstr' the parameter 'activate device restart' appears on screen: scroll to the right so you can change the value

Step 9: choose 'Execute'

Click on the dropdown and change the value to 'Execute'

select execute

Step 10: Click on Save

After you have selected 'Execute' you can click on 'Save' at the bottom of the page: the reset will now be executed

save reset

Step 11: Done

You have now completed the steps. The inverter will now restart. First all lights will turn off and then all turn on, and after a few minutes the reset will be fully completed and only the green and blue LED will burn constantly. If everything is correct, communication with the monitoring portal will also resume after some time.
