How are solar panels attached to the roof?
Whether installing solar panels is a good option for you depends on various factors. Of course, your roof must be suitable, but it’s also essential to consider your electricity consumption, connection type, and even potential tax benefits. Our advisors are happy to help determine the best solution for your situation. To get an initial idea, here are some key considerations. You can also request a free and non-binding consultation with one of our experts.
The perfect roof
Ideally, your roof faces south and has a tilt angle of 36 degrees. However, even roofs that deviate from this ideal are often highly suitable. A roof facing roughly between southeast and southwest with an inclination between 20º and 60º can still achieve a high yield. Flat roofs are also excellent for solar installations, as we provide mounting structures to secure the panels properly. Zonnefabriek offers specialized mounting materials for all roof types, including tiles, corrugated sheets, and bitumen.
Shade is another crucial factor: If chimneys or ventilation pipes are present, we position the panels to minimize shading effects. We also use inverters with advanced shade management software or optimizers. Additionally, we assess shading from nearby buildings and trees.

Flat or slanted Roof
Zonnefabriek installs solar panels on both flat and slanted roofs. For flat roofs, we use Sunbeam mounting materials, which allow panels to be installed at various tilt angles to maximize efficiency. For sloped roofs, we use the Schletter mounting system, a durable solution designed to minimize strain on your roof tiles.
